An exceptionally rare, 18th-century, short wine firing glass, dating to c1780.
It has an ogee bowl which has been slice and fully notch cut in four interlapping bands. The slice cuts continue through the prism cut bridge and down the stem, which has three bands of notch cuts on the angles, finishing on the thick slice cut firing type foot. Luba Collection sticker on the underside polished pontil.

Notes
The cutting style on the glass is exceptionally rare and you certainly won’t find another on the market. As a note, you will often see this general style of glass described as a Dram Glass or a Firing Glass or in combination, and that’s certainly not wrong. However, the proportions of the bowl and stem are far more typical of an 18th century wine glass, than that of a dram glass, which are typically smaller and have different form proportions. Either way, it’s been used for toasting and celebrating and being merry for the last 250+ years or so\.how good is that.
