Originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, a vintage Chaput style kilim rug connoting elaborate tribal sensibilities. Handwoven in wool, the piece exhibits an unusual play of vibrant embroidery atop a rich brown with black undertones, seldom seen outside this and a handful of other tribal flat weaving aesthetics. Keen eyes will admire chevron patterns in pink, beige, off-white and similar hues beautifully playing atop the deeper hues.
Prevailing in great condition, a 5x10 rug carrying a tasteful play of texture and color well suited for an array of projects.
