The table was custom-built in the USA to house the two lattice window panels as a unique decoration. They both measure 41” by 20” and are removable.
The window panels date from the late 19th Century. They are carved in an intricate lattice pattern resembling designs from Jiangsu Province.
Panels such as these were originally used as windows in Chinese dwellings, providing light, ventilation and privacy. In some homes, they were designed in elegant eye-pleasing patterns. See less
