These dining chairs were purchased in England in 1985 and imported to the US later that year. They typify the style, structure and high quality of furniture built during William IV’s short reign, following the Regency period and preceding the Victoria era.
The chairs are built from solid rosewood. They have a graceful outwardly curved back continuing in the form of two reversely curved saber back legs, offsetting two straight tapered front legs rendered in a ring-turned tulip-style. The removable seats are upholstered in green velvet.
The chairs are in good condition, considering their age. They are listed at a reduced price, since one of the velvet seat-covers has two minor imperfections (shown in the closeup photo). See less
