Tradition has it that her teeth were extracted, and for this reason, she is considered the patron saint of dentists and dental technicians. The painter decided to depict the Saint in full, in a monumental form, and stylistically seems to have been inspired by the Umbrian-Tuscan representations of the early 16th century and Perugino's purism. The painting measures 150 cm x 64 cm. Given its particular dimensions and verticality, it is possible that the canvas was intended to decorate a particular element of liturgical furnishing.
