Artwork sold with original frame (120 x 100 cm) Édouard Vincent Joseph Dreyfus-González de Orbegoso, 4th Count of Premio Real. Born on March 3, 1876, in Paris, Dreyfus-González was a multifaceted French figure renowned as a lawyer, painter, writer, and amateur composer. He hailed from a distinguished lineage; his father, Auguste Dreyfus, was a French businessman who amassed considerable wealth through the Peruvian guano trade and later converted to Catholicism. His mother, Luisa María González de Orbegoso, held the title Marquise of Villa Hermosa, and Édouard inherited the noble title of 4th Count of Premio Real. Dreyfus González pursued an extensive education in law, earning degrees in both general and maritime law by 1897, and subsequently obtaining a Doctorate in Law in 1903. That same year, he authored the essay "Étude sur la condition juridique des artistes peintres en droit romain", reflecting his deep interest in the legal aspects of the arts. As a painter, Dreyfus González specialized in portraiture. One of his notable works, Young Japanese Woman, is a watercolor depicting a woman in a kimono holding a flower. This piece was auctioned in 2010 by Kunstauktionshaus Schlosser. Under the pseudonym Jean Dora, he composed music, setting to melody poems by Verlaine (Les indolents) and Baudelaire (Recueillement). In his personal life, Dreyfus González married Anne-Hélène de Talleyrand-Périgord on March 16, 1907. They had a son, Luis María Archibaldo, who, despite his lineage, did not officially receive the title of Count of Premio Real. Édouard Vincent Dreyfus González passed away on July 12, 1941, in Versailles, leaving behind a legacy that bridges the realms of law, art, literature, and music. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
