Antique Japanese Satsuma Enamel Moriage Earthenware Teapot w/Scholars - Meiji Era
Antique Meiji era (1868–1912) Japanese earthenware pottery teapot that features hand painted images of Japanese scholars and students in iron red, green, orange, black, and white. This has been highly hand decorated with gilding and enamel moriage work. Features an all over crackle glaze. Wonderful condition, especially for age, there is a small rough spot on the edge of the the spout rim but after viewing with a loupe I could see it was under the glaze. There are areas of age darkening. No markings, measures 6" high, 6" wide, and 4" deep.
