Zografos depicts Thetis with Hephaistos, inspired by ancient Greek mythology and classical vase painting style. The scene is rendered in fine detail with raised imagery, showcasing Thetis, the sea goddess and mother of Achilles, receiving armor from Hephaistos (the god of fire and metalworking).

Set against a rich black ground with a decorative Greek key border in gold, the figures are delicately hand-painted in warm ivory and sepia tones, accented with intricate details such as the shield’s central motif and the sculptural folds of the garments.
