Geneviève Chapront was born on October 30, 1909, in Rochefort-sur-Mer (Charente-Maritime).
A student of her father, the painter and illustrator Henry Chapront (1876-1965), she debuted at the Salon d'Automne in 1933 under the name Khmelukova, then reverted to her own name when she exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries between 1935 and 1946 and at the Salon des Femmes Peintres, particularly in 1946. Close to the Communist Party, she participated in several exhibitions organized by it.
She also exhibited at Henri Ramey's Populist Salon and the Salon des Indépendants.

Listed in the Bénézit and the dictionary of painters in Montmartre
