Damien hirst (b. 1965) "disc" acrylic on paper. Signed and stamped on the back. "this painting was made to celebrate the opening of damien hirst's requiem at the pinciukartcentre, april 25-26, 2009." diameter: 52 cm good condition damien hirst steven (june 7, 1965) is an english artist, businessman and art collector. He is the most prominent member of the young british artists (the ybas), who dominated the uk art scene during the 1990s. 90 his career was closely linked to the collector charles saatchi, but growing problems between them reached a critical point in 2003 and the relationship ended. Provoking and scandalizing are the central themes in hirst's work. He is famous for a series of works in which he preserved, in formaldehyde, animals (including a tiburón, a sheep and a cow). The best-known work in this series is the physical impossibility of death in the mind of someone living, a 14-foot (4.2672 m) tiger tiburon immersed in formaldehyde in a transparent display case. There are also "spine paintings", created on a rotating circular surface and "counted paintings", rows of color circles ordered at random and created by their assistants. In september 2008, and like something unprecedented for a living artist, he sold a complete exhibition, beautiful inside my head forever, for a subsistence sale at sotheby's. (10.3 million pounds) by the golden calf, a calf with 18-carat gold skulls and feet, preserved in formaldehyde. In several cases since 1999, the sources of some of hirst's works have caused controversy, being accused of plagiarism in articles written by journalists and artists. In one of these cases there was a judicial proceeding that was the outcome of the courts. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
