A pair of giltwood Napoleonic settees, intricately carved and in beautiful condition. hand-carved fames with foliate and ornate detail work is accented by a vibrant graphic silk stripe of silk moiré with watermark adds a fluidity to the textural elements. In tones of alternating green and ivory and from French textile house, Lelièvre, Paris Quenin & Co.
Unique shape and design and can be appropriated for several uses, formal or casual. The 1980s cover of Florida Interiors features Countess Almeida in her Brickell Avenue, Miami residence "ROYAL PENTHOUSE" with the settees in the background in the dining room used as casual dining seating - brilliant.
Thought to be the commission by Maison Jansen for the Count and Countess who commissioned several other pieces by the famous French design house. These are available for the only time in over half a century with, literally, a Royal provenance.
