The subject is after the original by Desiderio da Settignano (1429-1466). It is marked to the interior with Cantagalli Cockerel black mark.
Can be hung on the wall as well as on a table using a stand.

The Cantagalli factory was founded by a master maiolica potter, Ulisse Cantagalli (1839-1901) in Florence, Italy, in 1877 and operated from 1878 to 1985. He was known for making reproduction of 16th Century maiolica and other historical ceramics. These reproduction became highly collectible and examples may be found in the Bargello museum in Florence, The Louvre in Paris and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. See less
