Dabah, a California artist from the high desert of California’s Joshua Tree, takes recycled industrial steel parts to form this sculpture. It is unsigned, and is 8” high by 6.25” in diameter. Dabah is an untrained artist, yet he is widely known for creating abstract sculptures is all different sizes, but mostly as tall as 20 feet. Clearly this sculpture was a marquette for a much larger sculpture of the same design. Don’t hesitate to “Google” the artist Simi Dabah and see for yourself other examples of his work and how well known he is and his work. You will learn that the artist created more than 2,000 sculptures and most of them huge. The amazing thing is they were never available for sale. Rather he would donate his sculptures to public institutions across the country. It wasn't until later in life that he made his artwork available to the public, yet all the proceeds of the sales went to charity.
