The wooden frame of this mirror is completely covered in rattan parquet, creating a dense texture framed by sections of bamboo and rattan canes. We found this mirror in a house located on the Lazio coast, specifically in an area called "Circeo," a few kilometers from Rome. The materials used to create this mirror—bamboo, rattan, and canes—recall the typical furnishing elements of Italian Riviera homes, with a more decorative design from the 1950s and 1960s, characterized by curls and curvilinear shapes, which became more minimalist and geometric from the 1970s onward. The mirror is in excellent, original, vintage condition. It has eyelets on the back for hanging horizontally, but they can easily be replaced for vertical use. It has been cleaned and the surface treated with a protective wax to preserve its patina. See less
