This hand-woven Turkmen Ersari rug was made in Afghanistan during the 1960s. Traditionally flat-woven, it is dyed naturally in red and green. Emanating the spirit of Central Asia, it is decorated with expressive gül motifs in rhythmic rhombuses. Deep shades of red predominate, offset by vibrant green, gold, and blue, creating a harmonious composition. The richly decorated borders and symmetrical pattern layout attest to the skill of the Ersari weavers and their centuries-old tradition. These rugs are made of natural wool and dyes, giving them a warm and noble character. These rugs have a strong ethnic style, rich in history and tribal symbolism.
The rug is in original vintage condition. It has signs of age-related wear, minor losses in the fleece, abrasions that create its unique style. Before shipping, the rug will be professionally cleaned and ready for use.
