We have a weakness for spongeware, especially hand made pottery glazes! Combine blue spongeware with stripes on this stoneware pitcher, and we're sold! Mix it with Italian, Spanish or Mexican pottery, or clean white French stoneware for a classic look.
Unmarked, but most likely by Marshall Pottery, a staple in East Texas and handcrafted by their master potters over the generations. The shape of the pitcher and style exactly matches their known designs. Stoneware is known for its durability!
*Of note is the unique combination of sponged design with the stripes. Usually it is one or the other.
This pitcher is large enough to serve iced tea or lemonade, or water refills at your dinner party.
Measures: 5.5" h x 8" wide with the handle.
