Strikingly beautiful, Heisey glass piece, specifically a horse head paperweight.
It was made by Heisey Glass, a company based in Newark, Ohio, USA. These horse head paperweights were produced from 1937 to 1956.
The design is attributed to T. Clarence Heisey, who was known to be a horse enthusiast. The mold for this particular bookend was created in the late 1930s by Victor Lukasko. These pieces were primarily used as bookends, though they could also have stand-alone functions as paperweights. This is a clear crystal glass version. Heisey also produced horses in various forms and colors, including light pink.
