Major John Biddle (1859 – 1936) was an American military officer, politician, and businessman from Detroit who served as a delegate to the US Congress as the speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives, and as mayor of Detroit. Original oil painting was done by Thomas Sully known for his portraits of national political leaders such as United States presidents Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, and Andrew Jackson, Revolutionary War hero General Marquis de Lafayette.
