Old French toe or willow basket for storing items or as a basket for logs, circa 1940.
It has a lived-in appearance and is in very good authentic condition, skilfully made with reinforcing wooden slats and iron wire.
And, of course, that aura of authenticity, true craftsmanship.
The shape is rectangular, although it is not exactly rectangular, but that is not necessary for such an old object.
