Please note the listing is for one … Read more 1950's Classic Elegant Bentwood Painted Dining Chair By Thon - Last Few Available. Please note the listing is for one chair. The chair was produced in volume by the famous Czech firm Ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs, they are an offshoot of Thonet. This model was a kitchen staple in Czech homes, they came with a painted frame which was often repainted but usually stayed white or off white. We have cleaned them but kept the original colour and patina which is what these chairs are all about. The character and beauty of these chairs is their individuality, most of the chair frames are painted a soft cream, some are a shade of white. All the chairs have rich red walnut seats and backs which again are unique. The listing is for one chair, if an order is placed for a set we will do our best to match up the chairs so they look good as a collection but please bear in mind that we cannot match up sets of identical chairs, they are all different and that is the beauty and charm of this chair. Although these chairs are more rustic every chair passes through our own workshops where it is cleaned and serviced. Seat height 45cm. Workshop Report: Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
