It is a modest … Read more For your consideration, this is a very old table with the character and artifacts of time. It is a modest size and would function well as an island in a mall kitchen or a butcher block. Given its age, this was a high quality piece in its day. It was originally designed to open up into a nearly 10 foot table with multiple leaves, thus the center leg. The leaves are long gone, but with the correct wood, a person could possibly have them fabricated. The table has its original color and aging of the wood. It has been cleaned and coated with a Polyurethane to seal the wood. See less

This does not affect the function of the table but only adds to its character. The detailed trim on several of the outside corners is slightly lifted from the surface of the corner of the table. (Please see the last photo) Although the table is designed to expand, the two sides have been secured with brackets to hold the sides together. These brackets are not visible, they are located underneath the table top and could be removed if the table is modified to expand. less
