The modulated dark to light tones Swanigan uses in his painting is characteristic of the Tonalist School of American Impressionist painters. Swanigan began his career as a drummer-percussionist but turned his interest towards visual art and painting when in his 20's. He is well known in the Nashville art and music community. See less
