1950’s Honey Oak Classic Luterma Cafe Dining Chairs.
The process of steam bending beech to create elegant chairs was discovered and developed by Thonet, but when its patents expired in 1869 many companies including Luterma launched production. Luterma was one of the brands marketed by Estonian factory A.M. Luther which was founded in the late 19th Century in Tallinn. Luthers production was principally in Estonia but they also had factories in France for local market production. At the time of the Bauhaus movement Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer worked with the factory to develop various models. These chairs date from the 1950s, a simple classic bistro shape with a beautiful colour and defined backs. We service and rejuvenate each chair before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality. The chairs are not stamped Luterma but we have seen many of the same model stamped, so we are fairly confident.
Seat Height 4cm.
We hold large stocks of original vintage chairs for private and commercial use. At time of listing we had 2 chairs in stock. The price listed is for one chair and you can order any quantity subject to the maximum available – for large orders please contact us for stock availability. Please note Pamono systems are unable to process multiple quantities past 9 units, to purchase more than this please contact Pamono and we will happily amend the listing to the quantity you wish to purchase. In most cases we have also already set up sets of four and six chairs to make the process easier. To locate these sets just search the product title.
