I had to … Read more Originally one of the doors to a black lacquer cabinet, this has been converted to wall art. I had to keep it; it is just too gorgeous to not use, and it makes a great wall panel. From the 1940s, it was probably made for export and according to the previous owner it was bought during the Korean War while he was on leave. While ordinarily the goods bought would be Japanese, this is absolutely Chinese work. Chipping on the edges and wear to the lacquer add to the beauty of this work. Brass fittings have been left on the panel. See less
