If Cupid were a decorator, "marriage" mirrors would be his pièce de résistance. Discover this charming Louis XVI-style French trumeau mirror, once destined to celebrate a marriage—and still dazzling with its original romantic flair. Giltwood, of course, with a delicately carved basket crest (filled to the brim with love and abundance), and fluttering side tassels that add just the right touch of theatrical drama.
The neoclassical details—laurel leaves for victory and eternity, pearl beading for purity—read like a love letter carved in wood. The frame has aged beautifully, with the kind of minor imperfections that only add depth, like laugh lines on a grand dame. The mirror plate remains clear and crisp—no clouds, just a few spots and lots of charisma. The crest once suffered a heartbreak—but it’s been tenderly restored, and now wears its past like a badge of honour. (See the picture of the backside).
Whether you’re styling a Parisian boudoir or giving your hallway the main-character treatment, this mirror will always reflect well on you.
Note: The stripe visible in the glass is from the board used during photography—it is not part of the mirror glass!

All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
The physical object can differ slightly in colour from the object as presented online. We have made every effort to display colours accurately, but cannot guarantee that the pictures accurately reflect the colour of those goods in real life.
