The accordion folded paper manuscripts (Parabaik) depict astrological constellations and mythical creatures that are based on Burmese astrology and their ancient Zodiac system. The monks of Myanmar invented this system using their cosmic knowledge and their keen observation of wildlife and the skies. Up to this day the Burmese Zodiac is still an important part of daily life in Burma. Each framed in a contemporary black frame with an acrylic cover.
