beautiful gilt bronze cake stand embellished with large leaves and acorns in bas-relief, with a considerable thickness. Signed on the plate by a. Marionnet, an important french sculptor born in 1852 and died in 1910, making it a piece from the late 1800s in clear art nouveau style. Note the fabulous straw-yellow mercury gilding, which is very light, and the even more beautiful patina created using a chemical process, with brown speckled enamel on the bottom of the stand, the stem of the pedestal, and the non-bas-relief part of the pedestal.
