José Gerson is a multifaceted Swiss artist whose career spans photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, and film. from an early age, he showed a natural talent for the visual arts and music, which led him to explore various creative languages throughout his life. His independent and experimental spirit drove him to break away from traditional paths and fully dedicate himself to art. His work is marked by a constant search for technical and expressive innovation. He invented original graphic processes such as “Nosregraphie,” a printing technique on materials like stone or wood, and developed a pioneering photographic method that has been adopted internationally. As a photographer, he worked as a reporter and portrayed iconic figures from the worlds of art, music, and cinema, establishing connections with artists like Dalí, Picasso, and Gainsbourg. As a painter, Gerson builds a symbolic and dreamlike universe, characterized by explorations of identity, human metamorphosis, and memory. His style is expressive, rich in gestural force and poetic depth. At the same time, he has worked in experimental cinema, graphic design, illustration, and monumental sculpture, standing out for his ability to merge visual impact with conceptual depth. His work has been exhibited in numerous countries and is part of both public and private collections. Although he has explored many disciplines, his approach remains coherent: an artistic vision deeply rooted in freedom, invention, and an unwavering commitment to creation. José Gerson is a total artist, difficult to classify, whose work transcends categories and continually renews itself, guided by a vital and intuitive impulse.
