Hand-knotted in high-quality wool, the mixed pile height is atypical of commonly shaggy Tulu pieces, whereas here the patch-based shag lines give texture to the much lower-woven asymmetric columns. Unique to this piece among modern Turkish rugs is the varying geometric pattern in each column, as well as the shag’s slightly deeper tone of rich brown, purple, multi-tonal pink, multi-tonal green, bright blue, beige, yellow, and gold.
