It … Read more Fabulous, antique 17th-century barber's bowl, or rather, glazed ceramic plate, hand-decorated. Easily traceable to the Dutch Delft Blue style. It features a blue and orange floral decoration, a decoration only used in the earliest times by this manufacturer. from the second half of the 18th century, however, the decorations were almost exclusively blue on a white background, hence the name "Delft Blue." The plate was restored many years ago, I believe in the 19th century, and perhaps this restoration is even more fascinating than if it were perfectly intact. Beautiful, with evident antique patina throughout. Very rare. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
