‘Two Dancers’ bronze sculpture by Kostas Dikefalos (born 1956).
Beautiful from any angle and signed.
Kostas Dikefalos was born in Zakynthos in 1956.
He studied sculpture with Yannis Pappas, Thodoros Papayannis and Giorgos Nikolaidis, and also ceramics with Giorgos Georgiou at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1976-1982).
His work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions in Greece. He has also exhibited globally - at the Meeting of Mediterranean Countries, which took place in Marseilles in 1985 and the Fukuhara University, Japan International Sculpture Competition (1996), in which he won first prize.
He is known for working meticulously care, and for seeking to capture clear forms. This is demonstrated beautifully in this piece.
His compositions extend vertically or horizontally, allowing the light to trace the surfaces and highlight the volumes, which often suggest continuous movement.
During his wide-ranging career, he has collaborated with other artists in making public monuments and has taken part in competitions; he has received the second prize for the Greek Resistance memorials in Amfissa (1986), Halkida (1987) and Holargos (1988). This piece has an attribution mark,
