This richly glazed barbotine piece features six scallop-shaped wells surrounding a raised central condiment dish — ideal for lemon or sauce.
The shells are set on a bed of stylized seaweed, adding texture and movement to the design. The deep green glaze reflects the artistry and vibrant color typical of Sarreguemines majolica from this period.
The underside bears the maker’s mark used between 1875 and 1900.
