Description: A realistically painted oil on panel painting by Austrian painter Otto Eichinger (1922-2004) depicting a content cardinal, with an open bible in hand.The artist is most known for his realistic and finely detailed portraits of cardinals, rabbis and everyday Bavarian men. He used the aid of a magnifying glass to achieve the intricate details.Signed top right, O. Eichinger.
