Created by Marjorie Shattuck, one of the finest female artists of the 20th century in the United States. She is well known for her paintings using 3 techniques: Watercolor, oil and painted/ glazed mosaic tile.

Only one owner, my late Grandmother. This piece hung in the office/library of her estate in Saddle River, New Jersey for decades. No notable flaws on this stunning piece. Signed Marjorie Shattuck on the back, dated and numbered. This piece was the third in a series of medieval women tile paintings she created.

The scene depicts and celebrates five women of the medieval era. Crafted in glazed and painted tiles which create a mosaic pattern. The color tones on this piece are beautiful. The rich, neutral color palette includes tones of: Cream, camel brown, bronze, chocolate brown, dark brown, sage green, army green, leaf green, ivory, indigo blue-violet, copper orange.
