George Henry Boughton Oil on Board Fishermen & Milkmaids Signed & Annotated. Excellent overall condition. Some very minor specs of paint loss in the lower area of grass and simple to correct. Possible later 20th century varnish. A light, simple cleaning will brighten the sky and the milkmaid's aprons. The painting on board is otherwise very stable and signed lower right as shown. There are some wonderful label remnants on the reverse that indicate elements of title and place. This is a recent attic find where it had been safely stored in a cool, dry, environment.
