This statue came to us as part of a group of statues purchased by a European traveler taking the continental … Read more This statue came to us as part of a group of statues purchased by a European traveler taking the continental "tour" many did as a rite of passage in the late 19th century, bringing home with them items such as these from their stops in Greece, Italy, etc. This is a diminutive version of one of the world's best-known sculptures, Myron's "Discobolus" known to us through Roman copies.
