This is a a Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges Chocolate Pot in an unknown pattern. The Ahrenfeldt mark is dated 1894 to 1930. Someone has hand dated this under the glaze as 1897 and marked it with a ‘G’. I don’t know who or what the G mark is for, but the date is clear and this item is antique and it may be hand painted.
The chocolate pot is white with a purple (violet) scene of violets with greenery and gold trim. The handle is ornate (and rather unique) and gold painted and the base and spout are trimmed in gold. It comes with the matching lid. It is marked as shown.
The chocolate pot measures 5.00 inches wide and is 7.75 inches tall to the rim and 9.25 inches to the top of the handle.
The violets and leaves show signs of hand painting and hand painted details. There is some background detail that do not appear to be hand painted.
The gold trim is intact and lovely and again, that handle is fun. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or other damage. The inside is clean and stain free.
