The quality of the piece is truly spectacular, the wood and inlay are museum quality, and the dore gilt bronze mounts, saboes and escutcheons are every bit as good. Edges of the piece, top, sides, and bottom are covered with a bronze band. Great combination of rare Tulipwood and Kingwood, an exotic nirvana. The quality of the commode is 11 out of 10! Serpentine front, two doors with a pair of escutcheons in the center, when opened the interior features a large shelf. Door lock is first rate quality. Condition is very good, slightest age and use wear, as it was French polished recently (see photos). Size is impressive large 50" wide, 37.5" tall, and 17" deep.
