1970s Soriana Ottoman by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina
This vintage ottoman from the acclaimed Soriana collection features tufted cognac leather held by chrome clips that create the series' signature gathered look. The innovative design uses metal hardware instead of a traditional frame to shape the leather into its distinctive puffy form.
Introduced in 1970, the Soriana collection won the Compasso d'Oro award and remains one of Cassina's most celebrated designs. This piece shows beautiful aging and patina while maintaining its comfort and structural integrity.

The leather appears to have lost some of its original suppleness and shows the characteristic patina and deterioration that comes with age and use. There are no tears, rips or holes. The metal base structure appears to be in good condition, but the leather upholstery would likely need professional restoration or reupholstering to return it to its original quality. This level of wear is not uncommon for vintage Soriana pieces, as they were designed in the 1960s-70s, and the leather naturally ages over decades of use. less
