The Andover chair, designed by Davis Allen for Stendig, is a classic chair known for its blend of Danish Modern, Shaker, and Mission styles. It typically features a solid beech frame with a lacquered finish (often black which is the case with this set) and a spindle back.
The chairs are known for their sturdy construction. When Stendig went out of business, Knoll reintroduced the design and renamed it the Exeter chair. We aren't sure if this set is a Stendig model (which would have been made in Italy) or a Knoll set (made in the USA) as this set is unmarked.

There are no labels or markings but these are consistent with the Davis Allen Andover chair made by Stendig (or later rebranded as the Exeter chair when Knoll started producing them after Stendig went out of business.
