Although inspired by the landscapes of Touraine, his art does not seek to reproduce nature figuratively. Rather than copying, he proposes “signs”, abstract representations that, in his view, capture the essence of nature while escaping its mimesis. This approach sets him apart from the group of “abstract landscape painters”.
