The cymatium features carved decorations of racemes surmounted by two opposing birds, conveying a sense of harmony and balance. As can be seen from the images of the backs of the mirrors, their production is very laborious, as the carved pieces are attached to the frame using small support points supported by a rear reinforcement. This workmanship, similar to fretwork, gives the pair of antique mirrors a sense of lightness and makes them suitable for any setting. They are of Italian origin, date back to the early 1800s, and are gilded in pure gold. They are in good condition. See less
