This minimalist coffee table was designed by Henning Kjærnulf for the Danish manufacturer Vejle Møbelfabrik A/B during the 1960s. It is made of from high-quality teak in a warm, deep shade of brown. It combines minimalist form with timeless elegance. Clean lines and subtly rounded edges emphasize its timeless style, reflecting the era of Danish Modernism. The signature is on bottom side of the tabletop.
Henning Kjærnulf was a Danish furniture designer and architect of the mid-20th century. Although not one of the most recognizable icons of Danish Modernism, his work is highly prized today by collectors and enthusiasts of the Mid-Century Modern style. Kjærnulf designed primarily for the Danish manufacturers EG Kvalitetsmobel, Nyrup Møbelfabrik, and Vejle Stole Møbelfabrik.
Vejle Stole Møbelfabrik is a manufacturer founded around 1907 in Vejle, Denmark, originally as a chair and furniture workshop. from the very beginning, it was renowned for its handcrafted woodworking, combining traditional carpentry methods with Scandinavian design. Collaborations with artists such as Arne Vodder, Johannes Andersen, Erik Buch, and Henning Kjærnulf, among others, enhance the prestige of the collection. In the 1980s, the company changed its name to Skovby Møbelfabrik, continuing to produce Nordic-style furniture. The original Vejle Stole Møbelfabrik ceased operations in 2011.
The table is in original vintage condition. It has minor signs of age-related wear. Minor glue marks on the leg, but table is fully functional. This piece has an attribution mark,
