The bookcase bureau is in two sections, the bookcase top having a stepped crown with band of checkered inlay, below are two astragal glazed doors enlosing three adjustable shelves.
The base with four drawers, all with checkered satinwood inlay, the top drawer having a fall front writing surface with a fitted interior of nine drawers & five pigeon holes, the drawers with satinwood line inlay. Below are three graduated drawers, all the drawers have the original brass bail handles & brass 'batwing' shaped lock escutcheons, the bookcase is raised on shaped bracket feet.
The secretary bookcase is made of the finest figured Cuban mahogany, the cabinet retains it's original finish, all the hardware and glass is also original and the original key is present.
A very fine quality bookcase secretary displaying the skill of an outstanding cabinet maker of the 18th century, condition is excellent, this beautiful antique bookcase secretary is ready to grace your home or office. See less
