These Silver Dangles are made from three individually hollow constructed components. Inspired by the the large earring fashion trends in the late 1980s, this collection used hollow construction techniques as a way to create large yet lightweight pieces for the period. Individually hand signed and dated, this piece has been in our storage vaults since its production 1992. This pair weighs 16 grams.

Modernist designer, Gerhard Herbst translates sculptural form into the jewelry medium. Popularly known for his spatial shapes and fluid manipulations of metal, Herbst began producing his unique style of jewelry in 1975. Herbst continued to study both sculpture and jewelry design at San Diego State University, and upon graduating he established his jewelry studio in Ocean Beach California. Adopting a wholesale manufacturing business model, Herbst would reproduce designs which he would then sell to leading museum shops and galleries throughout the United States. Although no edition numbers were set, total production was limited as each piece was individually and personally handcrafted by the artist. See less
