Born 1925 in Breslau,Germany, he studied at the academy in Breslau and at the art school in Hannover. 1952-1956 he worked as theater set designer at the theater of Hildesheim. In the early 60s he invented a special kind of puppet theater, called "Scharniertheater. The puppets are larger than life size and sometimes manipulated on hinges. The idea was inpired by Oskar Schlemmer and Paul Klee. Many productions were presented throughout his life time in various parts in Germany i.e. at the International puppet festival in Braunschweig and the Royal Garden Herrenhausen in Hannover. Since 1952 he was member with the artist group "Arche " and the art guild "Esslingen" . Since 1962, he was a member of Xylon. See less
