Elevate your library, office, or living space with this stately antique 6-stack lawyer’s bookcase, crafted from beautifully grained quarter-sawn tiger oak and showcasing an impressive silhouette just under 7.5 feet tall. A rare combination of elements from both Globe Wernicke and Macey, this modular barrister bookcase embodies the fine craftsmanship and design innovation of the early 20th century.
The four lower sections are original Globe Wernicke stacks dated with a 1913 patent on the interior metal brackets. Two additional upper stacks—likely Globe Wernicke as well—were added a decade or two later, reflecting the modular design philosophy that makes these cases so collectible and versatile. The top section, from Macey, features elegant beaded detail, while the bottom rests on an original Globe Wernicke C-D combo base for added visual balance and support.
Each stack has its own glass door that smoothly lifts and slides back for easy access and display of books, art objects, or collectibles. With its warm original finish, rich oak grain, and substantial vertical presence, this piece is not just storage—it’s a statement of enduring style.

Minor surface scuffs and dings contribute to its authenticity and charm. The original glass panes show signs of age such as faint waviness, light scratches, and occasional air bubbles—expected in early 20th-century glass. All doors function smoothly, and the case is structurally sound. Please review all photos, as they are considered part of the condition description. less
