This table lamp is an expressive example of a lamp stylistically influenced by Art Nouveau and the Wiener Werkstätte, and whose design is attributed to Adolf Loos.
The design was created by Adolf Loos for the Villa Steiner around 1910, although this example is most likely a high-quality reissue.
The overall appearance is characterized by clear geometry, fine materials, and functional elegance, typical of early modernism.
The lamp body is made of nickel-plated brass, with the vertical shaft featuring a column-like shape with fine fluting. This vertical structure blends harmoniously into a round lamp head held by three elegantly curved arms.
The white, hemispherical shade made of opaline glass sits in a metal socket and diffuses the light pleasantly softly. The base is stepped and its weight ensures stability. The power supply is via a white, fabric-covered cable with an intermediate switch.
Condition: Both lamps are in very good condition. The metal parts show only a slight, age-appropriate patina on the surface, but no major scratches or discoloration. The opal glass shade is undamaged, evenly translucent, and free of cracks or chips. Both lamps work perfectly and provide atmospheric light.
