beautiful early victorian ring set with a brilliant deep purple amethyst in cabochon shape measuring approximately 2.70 carats (9.22x7.74x5.24 mm). Surrounding it are 14 graduated rose cut diamonds. The top is silver and the shaft is 18 karat yellow gold. Amethyst was used in ancient mourning jewelry, as it was believed to establish a clear connection between the earth plane and other planes and worlds.
