Originally worn as part of the traditional Bückeburg attire, this necklace is not just a piece of jewelry but a historical artifact, representing the status and wealth of affluent farmers in the region. The necklace features 11 large, faceted amber beads, commonly referred to as "wheels" due to their distinctive shape. These clear amber spheres are meticulously crafted, with diameters ranging from 4 to 5 cm, showcasing the high quality and clarity of the amber. Interspersed between the amber beads are finely crafted silver balls, adding a touch of elegance and contrast to the warm tones of the amber. The centerpiece of the necklace is anchored by two ornate silver heart clasps, which bear the year 1877 and the initials "CN" and "EH," likely representing the names of the bride and groom for whom this necklace was originally made.
